God’s Gold. His Hidden, Heavenly Treasure…

Matthew 22:36-40 The Greatest Commandment: “The Golden Rule”

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.

39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Matthew 22:36-40

Now you have God’s gold (love) in your hands and hearts!

Golden formula for storing up treasures in heaven:
1 Love God, and ✝
2 Love People =
3 Treasures in Heaven

PART III – The Magnificat and Hebrew Women’s Songs of Deliverance

Jean Hite's avatarJean Hite's Blog

(Part III of a potpourris of perspectives of our Blessed Mother Mary — prepared for discussion at a pre-concert lecture for Polyhumnia, St. Ignatius of Antioch Episcopal Church, NYC) . . . more reflections to follow:

Mary’s Magnificat: In the History of Hebrew Women’s Songs of Deliverance

Mary’s Magnificat follows in a Hebrew tradition of five biblical songs of God’s deliverance sung by women — beginning with the Song of the Sea in Exodus 15 sung by Miriam (another Mary, this one Moses’ and Aaron’s sister).  The Song of Deborah in Judges 5, the Song of Judith in the Apocrypha and the Song of Hannah in First Samuel also anticipate the New Testament Magnificat.

Miriam:

In the second chapter of Exodus an unnamed sister of Moses helps deliver him from the Nile River where he was hidden in a floating basket. Many commentators identify her as Miriam, who first…

The parable of the speck and log: a teaching of humility

Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but the log in your eye you do not notice? How do you say to your brother, ” My brother, permit me, and I will remove the speck that is in your eye”, but you do not see the log that is in your eye.Hypocrite! First remove the log from your eye, and afterward you will surely see to remove the speck that is in your brother’s eye.”

Isabelle Esling's avatarYeshua Encounters

“A disciple is not elevated above his rav. It is sufficient for the disciple to be like his rav.
Delitzsch Hebrew Gospels, Luke Chapter 6, verses 40-42

Yeshua begins by making a very important statement: “A disciple is not elevated above his rav.”

It is a true call to always remain very humble at heart when we consider that the King of the Kings chose to serve as the Suffering…

Why did Jesus use Violence to Cleanse the Temple?

Adjams's avatarLove Your Enemies

Matthew 21:12-13 (New American Standard Bible)

12 And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves.
13 And He said to them, “It is written, ‘MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER’; but you are making it a ROBBERS’ DEN.”

Mark 11:15-18

15 Then they came to Jerusalem. And He entered the temple and began to drive out those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves;

16 and He would not permit anyone to carry merchandise through the temple.

17 And He began to teach and say to them, “Is it not written, ‘ MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR…

TREES TALK, CRY AND THEY SING

SCIENCE PROVES THE BIBLE:  TREES TALK, CRY AND SING!    tree smiles

580 words                                                                                             – Mary A.  LaClair

A physicist, Ed Wagner from Grant’s Pass, Oregon has determined that trees talk; that they actually put out cries of alarm when other trees are being cut down. (from AP 2/8-9/89)

Zechariah 11:2 says:  ‘Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; howl, oaks of Bashan for the forest of the vintage is come down.”                       tree smiling

The physicist claims trees “talk” in signals called “W” waves”.  His chart recorded blips of adjacent trees sending out cries of alarm when a neighboring tree was being felled in the forest.  The tree being felled put out a tremendous cry of alarm which was also recorded. (AP Feb ’89) Science proves Zechariah true!

In 1966, Cleve Backster, a Police Lie Detector expert, and former interrogation specialist for the CIA discovered that plants also record tracings similar to those of…

Globalists Wanted to Exploit Asia, but China Surprised Them

World Affairs - Non-Partisan and Objective's avatarWorld Affairs

Dear diary, I am writing about an ingenious plan that went awry and altered the trajectory of history. The plan was conceived and implemented over a century by my colleagues and their predecessors, the smartest and the most visionary people in the world. Merely 25 years ago, the plan seemed to have come to fruition, and western intellectuals talked not only about the end of the Cold War, but the “end of history.”We were excited about the imminent New World Order (which is now referred to as the “international rules-based order”). Then Asia happened.

After WWII, we established an unprecedented system to control half the world. Thus, in 1992, we were confident about bringing in the other half.

In the early 1990s, China and India represented not only 40% of world’s population but also a vast pool of consumers and diligent workers. On the other hand, my colleagues…

Grace & Glory – A Devotion

lthomason's avatarPure Devotion

Grace and Glory

Psalm 84:10-12 (NKJV)
For a day in Your Courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!

What if Christians decided to live not only in the Grace of God but His Glory, too? What’s the difference? Well, by faith we are saved and receive the Gift of God’s Grace. (Ephesians 2:8-9) This is simply confessing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died on the Cross for our sins and was raised again by the Power of God to sit at the right hand of God interceding for us even now. There…

Glory, Goodness, and Grace

Exodus 33:18-19. And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.”
19. Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”

I received the following question:

Exodus 33:18-19. And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.”
19. Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”

What’s the difference between glory and goodness and grace?

The glory of the LORD has to do with honor, esteem, or magnificence. As I have said in my article on “Long Hair and Glory,” glory is that about you which you value most, or which is most valuable or honorable about yourself. In the Bible, I believe it is connected with the Lord Jesus Christ by the statement in II Corinthians 4:6.

6. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in…

African Slavery and the Mayflower Story

The Mayflower Story

A full historical account needed, not political propaganda

African Slavery should be part of the Mayflower Story. New England was built on slavery through its trade with the Caribbean.

The ‘Mayflower Story’ should include both the histories of the Indigenous Nations of North America and African Slavery.  However, while the Mayflower 400 commemorations’ education materials mentions some Indigenous American history, albeit sanitised, African Slavery has so far been omitted.

The Mayflower colonists’ journey in 1620 has been remembered over four centuries while most others have been forgotten because it was the founding of New England. The thirteen states that formed the original USA grew out of the New England states. However, though the Mayflower passengers formed the colony that established the beginning of the New England colonies, it did so because it failed to reach its intended destination and become part of the Virginia colony. By…
